A campsite that accepts a Class B motorhome may still be a poor fit for your particular Sprinter. Length is only one question. The operator may have rules about vehicle type or self-contained facilities, while your own van may need a specific electrical supply or nearby bathrooms.
Book from the finished vehicle’s measurements and equipment list. The conversion’s model name is useful background, but it is not a substitute for those details.
Tell the operator what the van actually contains
Describe the van as a converted Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and give its overall length, travel height and width. State whether it has a permanent sleeping arrangement, toilet, waste containment and an electrical hookup. Ask whether that vehicle and your intended use qualify for the site category you are booking.
Do not select “tent” because the van is small or “motorhome” simply because it is expensive. If the booking choices do not describe it clearly, contact the campground. Keep the answer with the reservation so check-in does not become a debate about categories.
Inspect the individual site, not only the park page
Look at the pad dimensions, surface, slope, access road, turning room and overhead vegetation. Add racks and rear storage to the vehicle length. Confirm there is room to use the doors while keeping the van entirely within the permitted space.
A park can have several kinds of camping in the same reservation system. Florida State Parks’ camping overview, for example, distinguishes facilities and notes that maximum RV lengths vary by park. Use the specific site details for the reservation you are making.
Match electricity to the van’s inlet and limits
Record your van’s input requirements and approved connection equipment from the builder’s instructions. Ask what service is available at the exact site. A statement that the campground “has electricity” does not establish connector compatibility, available capacity or how far the pedestal is from the pad.
Have the installer explain the correct input-current setting and which combinations of appliances the supply can support. An adapter does not create more power. Do not use an improvised connection or an unapproved extension arrangement to reach a distant pedestal.

Read “water” and “sewer” carefully
Confirm whether water is at the site or at a shared fill point. Ask whether waste disposal is a sewer connection at the pad or a separate dump station. Learn the van’s correct fill and disposal procedures before arriving; fittings that look similar can serve different purposes.
If using shared bathrooms or showers, check their location and operating dates. A seasonal building closure can change whether a site works for an executive conversion without its own facilities. Ask about accessibility needs directly rather than assuming an accessible site guarantees every required facility.
Ask about the rules that affect your evening
- Check-in deadline and late-arrival procedure.
- Quiet hours and generator rules, if your van has a generator.
- Whether the site permits awnings and outdoor furniture in the available space.
- Pet rules, passenger limits and additional-vehicle arrangements.
- Current alerts, total fees and cancellation conditions.
Save a screenshot of the reservation and the operator’s directions offline. Navigation can point to a general park entrance rather than the campground gate.
Make the first stay easy to abandon
For your first overnight trip, choose somewhere close enough to return home if an essential system does not work. Arrive in daylight with food, required supplies and a tested sleeping arrangement. Run through the handover checklist before leaving if any controls remain unfamiliar.
A modest campsite that fits the van and provides the right facilities is a better first booking than a spectacular view with the wrong access or power supply.
